You Make Me Sic.

hello children,

Cowboy X put up a new track on their myspaz today...

It's called "Sic".

There is only one word I can use to describe it at this moment and that word is IMMENSE

It has been a live favourite for about a year now and every time I heard it at a gig it made me long for a studio version of my very own, such is the beauty and intensity of the track as a whole. The tender vulnerability of Karen McCartney's vocals over an intricately layered synth pop riff that builds and builds into an epic electro-rock stomper of a finish.

This is a seriously special track which only serves to prove yet again that Cowboy X are a band that deserve far more recognition and success than they are currently recieving. No plans for a release date as of yet but here's hoping they at least stick it up on itunes at some point... pweeze?

an electro cover of Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box: not as bad as you might think.

Hello there my pop compadres,

It has been a looong while. I must apol quite heavily for this as there is much musics I must tell you about that have been circulating in my iPod space for quite some time...

I shall begin with a recent discovery (as recent as yesterday in fact) called BAKER. He appears to basically be the male equivalent of Lady Gaga which is no bad thing really. He has yet to create a truly epic banging tune but what he's got so far, a brand new track called "Echo" and some very special electro covers of Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box and George Michael's careless whisper, is quite enough to be getting on with methinks. Here is the video for "Echo". It's quite camp but serves its purpose well.

Here is the aforementioned Heart Shaped Box cover...

You can get the downloads for both of these tracks plus a few more on the ol' myspaz

A little bit of news for anyone going to see LCD soundsystem in Tripod tomorrow or Wednesday. Due to the flight cancellations as a result of that damn volcano the gig is to be rescheduled. No announcements on dates yet but it seems that the best place to get updates is here.

Foals - This Orient

Right! Its been quite a while so I thought I'd post something to get us back in the swing of things.
This song has been popping into my head quite regularly since hearing it for the first time a few days ago. Something of a change of direction for Foals who seem to have mellowed their usually frenetic math rock for this single and their previous 'Spanish Sahara'. Their new album 'Total Life Forever' is released on May 10th and the band have a string of dates all over Europe in support of it. If you are, (like me) from the Emerald Isle your only chance to catch them will be as part of the Heineken green spheres gigs. If you haven't already applied for tickets you can do so here up til the 28th of April.

Without further ado here is the new single 'This Orient'.
